Our Bentonites are rare, natural, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It is included in the group of clay minerals, which typically exhibit absorption and absorption characteristics, which are so useful in industrial and environmental applications.
At Watheroo, we produce Bentonite with variations in clay chemistry. The product is Bentontie A which is a rare natural semi-granulated clay and is a unique natural mixture of saponite with very finely disseminated calcite and dolomite which contains detailed typical mineralogical and chemical analyses. This material is extremely fine when dispersed in water yielding aproximately 88% passing 1.3 micrometres.
Other bentontie deposites include clays of varying chemistry. Please call to discuss individual projects.

Note - cation exchange capacity (CEC):
-
Cation exchange capacity is the ability to hold cations by electrostatic charge and exchange these into solution. It is a measure of the clays ability to hold and exchange cations, including metals.
-
Cation exchange capacity (CEC) is primarily used as an indicator of soil fertility because it shows the soil's ability to supply three important plant nutrients: calcium, magnesium and potassium.
